Not only may this be a conflict of interest but how would you work your availability? I am assuming you ASM position requires open availability?
Chief
It wouldn’t be wise in my opinion. The scheduling would be terrible to coordinate because both would require open availability and two full time jobs is rough on anyone. There would be too much conflict and stress.
Anything is possible, but the schedule will probably be the hardest part to figure out. Also making sure you have enough time to get to one from the other. Never mind time to actually sleep. Whatever happens I hope you are successful and able to accomplish what you want.
Well it does seem like a conflict of interest. Esp in a management role. In an associate role there's no access to certain info, so it wouldn't matter.
I don't see that working out. I've heard of people who work remotely and they work two jobs and somehow manage it. But if you have a job where you have to show up, and then add a second, things are just not going to work. It seems like something that would happen in a crazy movie, but in real life it just seems impractical, even apart from any conflict of interest issues.
The firs thing I would do is attempt to negotiate your current salary. It's scary, but work up the reasons and the examples as to why you deserve a compensation bump and present it up. The worst thing is they say no and you're back to thinking about a second job, which I think there is a lot of good advice in this thread for you to consider. You also might get some clarity on what you would need to do in order to get a raise. And if it does work, you achieve your goal and preserve some work life balance.
My ex girlfriend's adult daughter tried to do that like 5 years ago and got in trouble for it. She was working at a journeys and wanted to get another job in the same retail industry and got found out. Some companies if you don't read the fine print say that you can't take two jobs in the same industry, conflicts of interest.
Yeah i wouldn't risk it. I think you'll likely get fired from both places if they find out. You might talk to your current manager about a raise, or ask them if they would be open to you taking on a second job (in a different industry perhaps)
I think probably not. Because sometimes some managers call in sick n they need other managers to come and cover for them. Or some managers take vacations n then you gotta cover.
Technically yes, but most companies would consider that a conflict of interest. If you were a regular team member you could get away with it but It's usually frowned upon with management positions. Depending on the company and your relationship with uper management, best case scenario they look the other way. Worst case scenario you could possibly lose your job as an Assistant Manager.
Are they two completely different stores that aren't in competition with one another? I would think that would be a conflict of interest and probably would be hard to do but if you need the money, go for it. You have to do what you have to do.

Not with either of the jobs being full time, but if both are part time I’d guess it should be okay. I’d look into the policies of each company though. Most companies would see it as a conflict of interest, especially if both stores sell similar products (or the same brands), but may be more lenient for part time employees.
Don’t make the mistake I did though: I got a part time job at a store (just as an associate, no management role) where the manager said I couldn’t work my other (also part time) job due to the reasons I outlined above. I went along with it as I read it in the policy. So I left my other job and later read the policy in more detail and noticed it didn’t apply to part time employees! My mistake.

Highly unlikely to do that
it depends if the stores have common interest like a walgreens and a cvs or walgreens and target you just got to be careful
Take the necessary steps to ensure the success of your financial needs while avoiding any potential conflicts with your primary source of income. Prioritize your ASM position and consider seeking part-time lead roles if you choose to pursue additional employment. Be mindful of the potential burnout and scheduling challenges associated with holding two full-time jobs. performance decline in your current position may be a high possibility.
You NEED the money, life is expensive. Get your second job in a different town and be discreet about it. It’s nobody’s business what you do the minute you leave work.
