I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.
I was wondering if I have the necessary skills to transition into a tech sales role. If so, what would be the best role/fit for me?Amazon Salesforce Google @

TPM seems too much like herding cats IMO. And in my org, when we did layoffs, SA's were safe but some TPM's got let go. There definitely seems to be a view that it's a role which can much more easily be consolidated into fewer or replaced by the consulting team on the ground.
Current plan is to transition to a Salesforce TPM role in a big tech firm if possible. Seems like more money short term and more potential long term. TPM into tech management seems like a more cushy job with higher salary than partner and more growth options while not working partner hours. Thoughts?
I’m working on making a similar change. Trying to move into software engineering or engineering team management. Seems like salary goes way higher for those kinds of people-manager jobs than SF architects.
