Do you think with a republican president, senate and house, the ACA will be repealed?

Yes! It’s been their goal since 2016. Unless, senators in swing districts who won by small margins think twice about voting yes for fear of not getting reelected, but most are part of the cult so..I predict they’ll give it a good fight to dismantle it.

Doubtul. Since its implementation in 2014, the ACA has provided health insurance to over 49 million Americans, with enrollment reaching a peak of 20.8 million in 2024. [ask google]
This expansion includes individuals who may not have access to employer-sponsored insurance or COBRA, such as those who are self-employed or between jobs. IT's really not for older adults. BTW. or Low income. I know plenty of people who are on ACA because they are self employed or have lost cobra or their work doesn't offer healthcare.

A cornerstone of the ACA is its prohibition against insurers denying coverage or charging higher premiums based on pre-existing conditions. This protection has been crucial for millions of Americans with health issues like cancer or chronic illnesses, ensuring they have access to necessary medical care without facing prohibitive costs. This has forced coverage and with cancer growing exponentially imagine how many people could die w/o access to treatment.

The ACA has reduced the number of uninsured individuals, hospitals and healthcare organizations have experienced fewer uncompensated care cases. This reduction in uncompensated care helps stabilize these institutions' financial health and reduces the burden on government programs that often cover such losses. Without it, the healthcare orgs go further into red.

**** Any significant reduction or elimination of ACA provisions could lead to increased uncompensated care, impacting both healthcare providers and government budgets. And with RFK and Elon in charge who would want govt to cover more costs??

We already pay for the uninsured. Government puts that on the backs of the companies that pay wadges. Healthcare is a differant animal altogather.

The uninsured knows they can go to any Emergancy room and get free care.

From the Washington Post:
Millions may not have health coverage if subsidies return to pre-Biden level

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2024/11/17/marketplace-insurance-expiration-subsidy-trump/

"Patients, medical providers and insurance companies fear a shake-up in the Affordable Care Act marketplace that could cause millions of people to drop their health coverage, after Republicans’ election wins made it more likely that ACA insurance plans will get more expensive.

Congress in 2021 increased federal subsidies for ACA plans, but that expansion expires at the end of 2025, and some conservative lawmakers have made clear that they oppose an extension."

I sell insurance in several states and basically what I am hearing is they have to replace ACA with something they can’t just repeal and not replace. Because the laws of insurance changed due to ACA. You can’t up charge based on sex, race, or gender. Women used to have to get a Ryder for 12 months and a day before they could get pregnant and insurance cover it. So with that being said whatever they come up with has to address EVERYTHING and be approved by all state insurance regulations. Which takes time and effort.

That would need to come up with an alternative, and they never did and are unlikely to do so. That is the only reason they won't.

Repeal unlikely, but significant changes to ACA coverage possible.
