I’m not going to lie, this is the first time I’ve seen or heard of “delta plus”
Chief
Yeah I discovered it on FB too, media totally downplaying it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like COVID reporting in the media has really slowed down. I haven't seen talks of cases in a while or they're not surfacing in my feeds (in the US).
In NY everyone is out doing their thing and this feels like it. Broadway, ballet were packed. Cinema (Dune over the weekend!) no longer had buffer seats. We seem to be treating this as "done".
A friend literally used the phrases pre-pandemic and post-pandemic 🤯
I'm wondering if this current status quo is getting normalized so companies and the economy will move forward with RTO.

Yep. In the states, come Jan 1st, this things “done”. Back to normal, baby!
I saw someone say, in America we’ll never do another “lockdown”. We’ll just normalize dying of Covid like we have gun violence.
Chief
Sounds about right. Reminds me of this, which is also a sad reality.

Delta+ by itself, no. It’s relatively small.
I think agencies will only send people home if there is a significant increase in cases and/or a government mandate that forces them.
Rising Star
How bad is it there??

I'm not concerned with delta plus, and I don't know if that's because I'm numb to it at this point or I've just given up. What I do find slightly concerning is that this thing seems to be mutating pretty quickly trying to keep itself alive. And I'm wondering if we're ever going to get the variant that isn't just more contagious, but more deadly. For all I know, it could be one tweak away from a horror movie outbreak of death in the street. But I'm still going out to run errands like it's any other Monday. So I'm kind of at odds with myself.
The only positive here is coronaviruses don’t typically mutate to become more deadly because - as you said, they want to stay alive, so their host needs to stay alive, at least for a little.
This is just what I’ve read but it would count on everyone getting vaccinated which ya know…..has been a battle.
Hopefully it will go the way of Mu: https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20211006/mu-made-splash-disappeared-quietly
I have been so buried in work that I haven’t been consuming news, so I thought Delta+ was referring to some kind of in-flight entertainment system.
Forget the rat race. We gotta link & build.
I’m getting news of it all over my feed.

There’s like so little about this in the news in the US in general. The most recent thing I’m seeing in US is from almost two weeks ago. Some stories from the summer - but like C1 says. It’s a non entity in NYC.
If only there was a vaccine. Guess it's just WFH forever.
