Do you use a second monitor for your laptop? If so, which brand do you use? I have sidetrack and it’s a hit or miss when it will work.

Consider buying a smart tv and use the hdmi port... then you have a tv when you don’t need it as a monitor anymore. You can find monitor size TVs for $150 or less

I have an LG 34" ultrawide monitor and I love it. I'll likely buy another for the office when I start going back in regularly. I prefer to buy a monitor over using a TV because the resolution is so much better and it's easier to look at for 12+ hours a day.

I have a large dell for my second monitor with my laptop.

I use a Samsung ultra wide monitor and a normal Samsung 24 turned vertical for reading long documents and depo transcripts.

I have a 32” monitor. It’s all you need.

My set up is a Microsoft SurfaceGo connected to two Samsung displays via a WavLink dock. Works/worked well. This past week, after a year, there’s some connectivity issues. Not sure if it’s the cable or what. Haven’t investigated too much yet.

I use this Asus one and really like it. Fits in laptop case so I have 2 monitors no matter where I go. I use a stand meant for ipads to hold it, the case/stand it comes with isn’t that good.

Dell UltraSharp 24 USB-C Monitor: U2419HC

I have an LG 24" from Costco that was cheap, like $85, and it's great. My ONLY gripe is that the base isn't flat, so I can't set things on it - I lose like 8 square inches of desk space on an already-small desk.

Yes it’s vital. Have regular widescreen monitor. Samsung I think

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.

Trying to avoid paying an accountant, can I actually write off home office space/mileage if I was just permalancing for 3 months last year? Shouldn’t the 7 months of W2 take care of this 1099 shit?

Just landed a full time gig, looking to get some furniture so I’m not working on my parents’ kitchen table during this remote period. Any recommendations for desks and chairs? I’m hoping to find something that’s easy to assemble and break down for when I need to move, and something that won’t cost an arm and a leg.

I know everyone has a different kind of setup that works for them. I currently have a laptop, drawing pad, second monitor, and a desk riser.

1099 or w-2 ? I have been given the option though the company prefers w-2. It’s a day rate booking couple of months or more (no end date). I already have 1099 from similar company this year and am leaning towards 1099, but I don’t want to be difficult. I do take home office deduction and they are not supplying any equipment. Suggestions?

How are 1st year litigation associates dealing with WFH? I’ve been having terrible anxiety/panic attacks, and pretty sure my billables wont exceed 110 for April. I’ve been super stressed about it and don’t know how to move on to May with the proper mindset to make up for as much time missed as possible. CA courts are still closed, and I’m worried I won’t be able to exceed (or even meet) my May goal after April.
