Does Accenture allow remote work from a different country for a few days to a couple weeks?

Generally no. We promise our clients work will be done in the US for security reasons

The official answer to this is something close to “no” but depending on the industry, client, and circumstances - it may be temporarily approved. “I need to travel to another country for a few weeks for a funeral, sick relative, close family wedding etc” is more likely to get approved than “I want to go live on the beach in Belize for awhile” And of course - if your reason for being in a different country is work-related (which is rare in the current environment) - it’s fine.

Thanks for the response SM1! What is the approval process to get that done? Who do I make the approval request to?

Start by discussion the request with your project lead/supervisor. In many cases it’s not going to be a formal form/request.

Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!

I wrote a rec letter for one of my legal assistants for law school right before COVID got bad and we all started working remote. Ever since then, this assistant has seemingly been slacking. There’s only so much I can actually see/review without seriously micromanaging her. I’ve spoken to her about her slacking at least twice and both times she just brushed it off. I want to withdraw my rec letter, but I feel like it’s too late. She is leaving at the end of the summer. Should I just let it be?
