Does anyone else get “LinkedIn envy” or is it just me? I’ll be scrolling and see someone I graduated with got promoted to VP, another launched their third startup, someone else posted about a 40% raise. Meanwhile I’m just trying to make it through quarterly reviews, and even though I know it’s all highlight reels, it still makes me feel like I’m falling behind. I’ll admit I’m the average Joe… but do you ever compare your career to what you see on LinkedIn, or have you learned to tune it out?

What are the promotion cycle and salary review cycle months?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

Had an interview with Hexaware and 3 days back HR1 called me and said she will send the offer letter next week. 2 days back HR2 called me and said a client interview is scheduled for you and I attended that. My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

If it’s true that you can gain full immunity after recovering from COVID (when science says so ofc), will the plan be to antibody test people and let them resume daily life if they have immunity?

If you go for interview and you sort of know that the person interviewing you might be curious about something on your negative on your resume like why is there a gap or why were you in XX role for so long?
