I work at PayPal and love it. My team and the other teams I’ve worked with are pretty chill. The folks are smart and very generous with their time. The culture is collaborative but there is a ton of autonomy. Basically just get your work done and ask questions when you need guidance. Legal is well respected by the business and we work cross functionally with the business quite often. This of course leads to legal jumping in on a few business issues sometimes but it’s not the norm. WLB is the best I’ve had out of the three companies I’ve worked for. Pay is about average for the payments industry but not anywhere near FAANG. Comp is broken down into base + % bonus based on personal performance and company performance (in 2020 and 2021 is paid out at like 150 and 200% respectively but 2022 was around 60%) + RSUs over three years (1/3 after the first year and then each quarter thereafter). I was able to get a signing bonus as well. Oh and the ESPP program is one of the better ones. Your price is locked in for two years unless it goes lower in which case you get the lower price. They match your 401k 100% up to 5% of your base salary and the health, dental, etc. are all above average. The stock has seen better days but the cataclysmic drop is sector wide. Not a bad time to get some RSUs now.
What is the corporate structure/hierarchy, ie senior legal counsel, senior director, etc?
