Does anyone here use a nanny/ sitter during these Covid times? If so, what is the arrangement? My husband and I talked about potentially finding a live-in person but not sure that’s even possible.

I’m not, but I’ve heard other situations where families hired a nanny that lived alone and was self-isolating as well. Daily temp checks from both sides and lots and lots of hand-washing. Seems feasible if you really trust the person you hire. Good luck!

Thank you for responding! I spoke with our ex-nanny who was basically a surrogate parent to my kids and we trust immensely. I think we might go for it with some of those pre-cautionary regimens in place.

We kept our nanny that we have had since I went back to work in fall 2018. I trust that she is being safe when not with my family, as well as when she is watching my son. We don’t do extra precautions, but like I said, we trust her and know that she is a homebody with her family.

We’ve had a nanny come to our home for 1 year now. She takes the CDC rules seriously so we know she’s being cautious

How do I deal with a parent who has become bitter and shrewd as they age? It’s exhausting and disheartening to be around because they used to be positive and happy. I’d like to help them be positive again but also want to give them space to feel how they feel. I just want them old version of my parent back 😞

Both my grandparents died within the last few years (husband/wife) and now the siblings (including my dad) need to divide up the remaining estate. My dad is the oldest and has been the primary caretaker for both of his parents, who lived to their late 80’s/early 90’s and his disabled sister. He also manages an apartment building for the family. Now the youngest brother wants to do a bunch of auditing of accounts and is ready to take my dad to court. I’m like, you had 15+ years to get (cont)

I’ve been married for a while now (5+ years) but feeling completely checked out. My wife has zero conflict resolution skills and can’t control her anxiety, so we constantly bicker if I ever do anything that offends her, and she wants to spend all her time talking about the constantly changing projects she will never start. I can’t ever talk about anything that worries me because she just freaks out. We have kids and she has no ability to earn money so leaving would be impossible financially

Gift ideas for GF dad? We have been dating a year and a half, I get along with him super well. He is dealing with some medical complications so isn’t to active at the moment but loves cooking and golfing. He is one of those guys who already has everything he needs, and they are super wealthy so I feel bad getting him any clothing or accessories knowing it wouldn’t be as nice as the things he wears, although I know he doesn’t expect anything and would genuinely appreciate anything I got him

A friend of mine works with TCS as an Analyst, his base location is Bengaluru but he is been working from his hometown in Lucknow since the first COVID lockdown. Now he is being asked by his team to work from Ahmedabad, where his direct supervisor (manager) is working from. In this case, according to TCS talent policies, what is the procedure and the benefits that he can avail, as part of project initiated relocation? Also, how long it takes to get base location changed through HR in TCS?

During interview I was speaking to the hiring manager. Felt interview was going well. He seemed impressed by my answers, excited by my skills, and even gave me a tour of the office. At the end, he asked about my home life. When I spoke of my 3 young kiddos, the manager got a little taken back and replied Oh you have children? I said yes ages 3, 5, and 7. He then proceeded to ask me about daycare arrangements and if I can be reliable. Red flag as his demeanor changed and made me feel unworthy.

I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.

All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off.

How should I approach her in the upcoming year?

I’ve worked in clinical research in the academic/non profit world for the past five years. I want to transition to a role in pharma or a CRO, but haven’t been successful yet because I don’t have industry experience. Does anyone know of any CROs/pharma companies that are willing to hire someone with research expertise from an academic medical center rather than already in industry? Thanks!
