Thank you Global Entry.
We need more teachers down here in AZ! If you're in the area, or moving to the area, or even thinking about moving to the area (😅) feel free to check some of these out and apply. I would recommend going through the schools website, but there are multiple schools hiring! Cannot provide referrals, can provide recommendations for a good place to get a drink to celebrate your new job.

They do status matches for certain companies but only up to Platinum (there’s plat pro and exec plat above that). If your company doesn’t have a matching offer, they have challenges although I’m not sure what that will look like next year since they’re revamping how you earn status.
I believe AA only does status challenges, not matches
Honestly, this is such an edge case I might try and work the phones with Qantas if I were you (and American, if you can get that far)
Worst they can do is say no
Where in the US are you moving to? If AA doesn’t have a hub there, you’ll be better off looking at other options.
If you want to stay with Oneworld, Alaska is another airline to consider.

Chicago is also an AA hub.
Flagship lounge and checkin so it may be worth keeping your OW Emerald Status with Qantas. You can use both of those every time you fly. Once you switch over to AA status you’ll lose that.

Your one world status should just carry straight over right?
Yeah but it’ll be hard to keep it not flying Qantas I think - partner airline rewards aren’t as good…
Your Qantas status will have a lot of value on AA while you’re building up AA status. Even when flying domestically on AA, you can use your Qantas card to use flagship first check-in and access both Admirals Clubs and Flagship Lounges, things top-tier AA elites can’t do (except the small number of Concierge Key members). I put my AA number in reservations and hand my Qantas card to lounge staff.
