Does anyone know of any good job options in FL for attorneys who are not licensed in FL? I’m wanting to move back to be closer to my family but I really do not want to take the bar again. I’m currently licensed in MO and doing products liability and trucking litigation through the Midwest. I’ve applied for some in house roles but I’ve only got three years of practice so I’m not sure I’m qualified. Is it possible to find something or will I need to suck it up and take the bar again?
I may be misinformed, but I think federal government positions only require you to be barred in one state, not necessarily where you practice. There might be some roles in that area. But generally speaking, the Florida legal market is kind of a crapshoot imho. A lot of offices might take you on and allow you to practice until you take the bar at least.
Get admitted to the three federal court districts in Florida, it’s really easy. Or You could focus only on federal matters like tax, intellectual property or immigration.
