Does it makes sense to buy points?

Roth vs Traditional 401k, thoughts?
NFA, but will be buying up sub 20K BTC… DYOR 🥲

I have received an offer from PA Consulting , which I think will speed up my development by around 2 years, compared to staying where I am. (More diverse role, exposure, not just focused on one platform/product for which I currently am). In addition, the offer is also a large increase in package. I have only been at my current company for 6 months, however I would like to take the offer, how do I approach this?
Any Recruiter here?

Typically, buying points for the sake of having points is not a great value. However, if you are short some points for a planned trip, it is worth it.
Definitely scenarios where it makes sense to buy, the only issue you’ll run into is the cap of how many you can buy so you’ll need a friend.
Take the StR Punta Mita. For two nights I see it for $3227 or 252k points. To buy 252k points it would be $1250 for 140,000 and $1,000 for 112,000. So you’re coming out $1000 ahead.
I would just zero them out and buy later. They’re always running promos, sometimes better ones.
I’ve been in the points game for a while and the massive devaluation of Marriott points over the past 4-5 years have been massive. That same StR Punta Mita I got 5 nights for 240,000 points in May of 2019. That would now cost 450,000+ points.
Only if you have a specific redemption in mind. Otherwise, you'll be paying more than they are worth.
I only buy points if I need to top up for a booking.
Oh god please tell me you don’t work for A&M
