Does weather affect your work at all? It does for me because we are doing construction and high winds or heat or extreme cold causes issues. It’s been top of mind with all the crazy weather the country has been having. Has anyone been impacted or could be at work?

No, at least I’m not dealing with any projects that are dependent on the weather like that. Is it difficult to work around those very uncontrollable factors? Has been a ton of crazy weather recently, and I can only imagine how difficult that is to navigate the possibility, or it actually impacting.

It’s definitely difficult, just have to factor in extra time and money and have backup plans available.

Weather doesn’t affect my work at all—lucky for me, I’m in an office, so it’s all about the AC and maybe some occasional snow day. I get that construction might face issues, but for us desk-bound folks, the biggest impact is maybe a power outage. Otherwise, it’s business as usual.

That’s definitely nice

Yes it does affect me at the office we have had to delay several evaluations due to the icy/snowy conditions as it would not have been safe for participating members of the evaluations we planned to conduct.

I'm getting a MAcc to career change to forensic accounting. What opportunities are available to me with a data analytics heavy MAcc? I'm also tacking on 2 graduate certificates in Applied Statistics and International Economic Policy? For those in the field, would that be useful or not useful (i.e. waste of time)? I spent a year in tax investigations where I believe I was thriving ( I was going to be an assistant manager in July 2023), I had a lot of assistant manager jobs, I even drafted a Code 9 report to HMRC which my manager said was 80% of an actual report, he then added the 20% and submitted it.
After I realised I couldn't maintain all the unpaid overtime I was working I decided to take a turn and go to compliance, so now I work in CT compliance. I feel very surpressed.

It's been a challenging year for me, including a rejection from GSAP. This week, I got into my top choice MBA program - and an M7 to boot! Just goes to show that sometimes Deloitte's decisions can be misaligned to the greater world.
I hope that Deloitte gives me the chance to be a good brand ambassador - but at the point, it's up to the firm if I even consider coming back :)

I'm an engineer, and I feel like my manager is more of a friend than anything else. We talk about our personal lives, and I feel like it's hard to be completely honest with her when she's so casual with me. I don't want to lose our friendship, but I also need to be able to talk honestly with someone who has the power to help me grow professionally. Is there a way to have both?
