Does your company encourage time off around the holidays or are you expected to work like normal? I’m thankful that many people at my current company take time off and it’s encouraged to recharge. At my last company, I was expected to work a lot more over the holiday.

I take two weeks. The Monday before Christmas to the Monday after New Years.

This is great—it’s so nice to have an extended period of time off

We are expected to work as normal. They "encourage" us to take time off but they don't actually mean that. Because in the same breath they are on us to get things done.

I’ve had similar situations in the past. “Take time off to rest & recharge!! But still get your things done.” Impossible to truly rest and recharge in this environment

We are shut down for two weeks and nothing gets done. It's just as important for us as it is for the company that we have that time to recover from burnout and to recharge.

This is awesome. I wish we had this perk!

They encourage us to take time off if we need to as long as we have someone cover

Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Recruiter and mgr had great things to say around growth and opportunity, which doesn’t align with feedback from the bowls or Glassdoor.
Understanding things have changed there in the last few months, I need un-biased advice from fellow fish who have recently joined or can speak to recent changes

Want to attract top talent and build high-performing teams? Invest in employees, not recruiters:

1. Yearly cost of living pay increases
2. Flexible work policy (remote & hybrid)
3. Mentoring & leadership training
4. Reimbursement for continuing education
5. Career pathing
6. Employee resource groups
7. Benefits with low deductibles (Medical, Dental, vision, and mental health)
8. 401K with employer matching
9. Min 20 days PTO
10. PTO for community service

I am so beyond ready to leave my current job, but can’t yet, since bonuses are paid out in January. 😬

In the meantime, I’ve applied to a lot of similar roles (slightly higher) but have not heard - good or bad - from any. Is it common for companies to slow down hiring in December because of Q4 rush, people on holiday, etc.?

We are seeing more pushback from employees on working 40 hours. We offer flexibility (wfh), 11 holidays and another 3 wks PTO. Seems like a good gig, I think, at 40-45 hrs. Anyone seeing this too?

After freelancing for years and doing well, would you consider a full time job? It's really hard to give up the flexibility of freelance, but... also hard to give up having a 401k match again. Salary would be similar to freelance money, but less time off. Thoughts?

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

User experience mgr salary? I support six product teams and eight reports. 20+ years experience

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.
