Does your company enforce some sort of performance standard or metric that you need to be meeting in order to work from home? Mine does and I have to say... I think its way too soft. There are some people that just shouldn't be working from home in my opinion.

There are some people that just shouldn’t be working. It’s always the case. That’s why companies usually have performance reviews and variable comp tied to performance.
But it sounds like your company knows what it is doing. Having minimum requirements while letting people have a good perk that saves the company money.

Our place they keep changing it and adding unnecessary things to it. I’ve had other companies that had performance metric that were normal and worked well.

It’s not solely for remote employees, but the standard is awful. I appreciate giving the benefit of the doubt and all that, but multiple people are overdue on deadlines, and even when brought up,it still takes a few more days to get the ball rolling. I’m at a loss.

Who cares as long as people get their work done?

🤷

We don't have this arrangement, but I get why certain companies would implement such metric. Some people really thrive working from home, but others definitely take advantage of the flexibility. Having clearer standards would probably help keep things fair for everyone.

I keep coming back to the fairness aspect as well

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. Now HR is restarting my ET as a new employee. I realize I left, but not on bad terms and I am an exemplar and respected employee. I thought I’d have the upper hand with the nursing shortage but I’m getting the “rules are rules” response. Help!?!

Additional Posts in Jobs in Finance

Hey all! I have an interview with
Deloitte in Regulatory Risk and more precisely in their Investment Management Services team. I would like to know if anyone
knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).
Is it the case here?
Thanks!
