Not my current company, but the one before did offer this! Was the first time I had ever heard of it. Very nice perk to be able to have a paid day to get out and about and help. So valuable for the community and I really wish it was offered more! When I was there I did a clean up event at a park and some time with an animal shelter.
My previous employer offered this, 3 days a year. I would go and do some gardening and light household tasks for the elderly or volunteer at food banks. It was nice to go out and do something different, and people really appreciated it.
Mine doesn't, but we're a smaller company and don't offer much in the way of unconventional perks. That's a pretty cool opportunity, I would definitely take full advantage of it if I could. Giving back while getting away from work sounds like such a win-win.

Not my company and I don't think they would ever do that.
No, we don't do anything like that. It's a nice idea, though I'm not sure I'd like the idea of volunteering in programs approved by the company. When I've done volunteer projects they're things I believe in, and I couldn't care if my employers found them acceptable.
There’s a pretty wide range of things we can participate in, and there’s also the opportunity to request that your volunteer efforts at the charity of your choice be approved.
One thing I do like about what our company does is that it exposed me to different organizations and the type of work they do for the populations they serve w
That is such a good idea! Our company doesn't really care about the local community 😂 So I can't imagine them ever getting behind something like that. It would be a really neat way to give back and get to try something new though.
That would solely depend on the company and operation. If it's a food company who wants to better the world and humanity as a whole healing collective. Kudos to that business and I want in. Hope you well and God's graces.
