Does your firm recognize senior and manager promotion bonuses as a bonus or as increased salary? Difference is if raises in following year are compounded. Please indicate ur firm.

I think you are confused on terminology. Any sort of promotion bonus is just that, a one-time payment because you got promoted. But that isn’t all you get when you are promoted. You also get an additional base salary increase in addition to your standard merit increase that year. For my office, the standard senior promotion base salary raise is 8% which is added to whatever they were going to give you for merit that year.

I can only speak for KPMG but I would be shocked to learn that newly promoted employees aren’t getting raises above and beyond the standard for that year.

like

EY is set up the same, although they don’t disclose exact amounts/percentages as far as I’m aware

like

@EY1 KPMG is the same. I found out the “standard” from a loose-lipped partner.

like

Does anyone know the standard rate bump from Senior to Manager at EY? Also, what is the range of new Manager bonuses?

like

Promotion to sr is a 5% base bump and manager/sm is a 7% base bump so my increase in the m promotion yr was 15% (8% normal + 7% promotion)

like

Is this true of other firms? Aside from bonuses there's an additional increase in base salary for being a senior aside that is given to a regular year more at the firm?

Agree with KPMG1

My total increase was only 9%...

EY2 it could be different at EY but at my firm there is no standard bump. There is an acceptable salary range for each level and depending on firm economics, performance, years of service, etc will determine where you land in that range.

Pretty sure EY is the same—there are salary bands for each level, and your raise is designed to put you in the appropriate band.
The promotion bonus to audit manager in the FSO is $5K. No range, unless you count Bravos

Hi Fishes, I cleared an AVP role in JP, Hyderabad. I'm currently at 22 LPA and JP is offering a 45% on this. I have 17 years of experience and 13 years association with Deloitte. Should I consider this offer. Deloitte has great flexibility, my last annual bonus was 3.2L. Does JPMC has flexibility and what other benefits do they offer?

Most of the review on DXC is negative. How will be job security and work life balance. In most review I see "termination & layoffs." How is current situation in 2022

I just screamed at my dad and walked out of our home.

This morning I was trying to get feedback from him on a business idea and his response was: Maybe you should focus on your career since you didn’t get a job in finance and had to settle for consulting, and you work at Deloitte... it’s a sweatshop. They didn’t even give you a fast track promotion did they?

This is a regular thing and it’s the fucking weekend. I could use a break.

Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!
