No idea, but the existence of a black friday sale isn’t a good sign. If a watch has good demand you aren’t going to find it on sale.

My two cents - seamasters don’t hold their value especially well. The line is constantly getting significantly redesigned and the design changes are fairly directional vs the kinds of minor tweaks you see Rolex making to the sub as a counter point. Also a two toned metal with navy dial is a fairly directional reference with a smaller pool of potential buyers vs black on stainless. Buy what you like and wear in good health, but I definitely wouldn’t bank on any appreciation and I could see it continuing to depreciate over time below 50%+ of msrp.

Here is the lowest price on Chrono24 on a brand new one from grey. the $5.8k you saw is from an AD or another grey? Saw a pre-owned listed on Reddit for $4700 (was sold). I think a 20% drop in value is quite likely.
I see them resale for around -20-30%. I think gold on a Seamaster looks great, but most people looking for a Seamaster aren't looking for a gold watch. Steel is the better value and look for a dive watch. I love the Seamaster line and have been fighting off the urge to get a white dial one, but would expect to pay -20% for it.
