Enjoyable wine from the Valtellina region of Lombardy. Made from the Chiavennasca grape (known in Piedmont as Nebbiolo) this Superiore wine was aged for six years in oak prior to bottling. Strong notes of sweet cherries with secondary notes of roses, dark chocolate, and coffee.

I hear a lot of good things from this producer, I'll look for a bottleat a fair price soon

Nice! Reviews on this are impressive. Is this a bottle you've been sitting on? Where did you acquire and (if you don't mind sharing) what was price? Looking online, the best I'm seeing is around $100 a bottle.

like

I bought this at Eataly during a tasting. I’d give it a 91 but a few things factor into the price - long aging and the complexity of Nebbiolo. A decent amount going on- Sandy tannins but may also lack a bit of the richness one would expect, but then it makes up for it in secondary and tertiary tasting notes. I go all out for different, and that it is - I don’t remember what I paid for it but I would buy it again.

I am looking for wine decanter tags that are writable. I’d like to find a vintage looking silver option, but they all require engraving. Dry. Acidic nose. But for $10 this wine is amazing. Where else can you find a ‘14 vintage for that cost. I Get nectarine hints maybe plum. Very little body. Mild tannin; I wouldn’t mind putting out for guests. If you’re going for something dry, acidic, in the red department, can’t complain. I picked this one up from Trader Joe’s. Hope you find this helpful!

Big fan of this one. Not super bold. More velvety. Subtle leathery taste, hints of vanilla! I picked up a half case for 120, or $20 a bottle! I may actually buy more. 8/10 for price and taste. Very elegant.
