Expecting a promotion to Manager in a few weeks. Total comp will likely be around 200k year 1. Have an offer to do Corp Strat for global industrial company where total comp would be around 230-250 but progression will be slower. I really value my network at accenture. Thoughts?

likeuplifting

Yea, It’s looking like Strat will be in that ballpark

Wow 200k comp seem high! If it’s true maybe stick around Accenture a bit. You don’t seem excited about the other opportunity much.

like

Are you interested in the other job? I’d say choose based on where you’ll be learning and doing things that interest you. Comp isn’t the deciding factor if you’ll be unhappy.

PS. Fwiw, I think career is more about taking opportunities that come than having a plotted out strategy that may or may not work. That doesn’t mean you have to take every single opportunity however.

If you leave now....your resume will day Accenture consultant. That won't look nearly as good on future jobs as Accenture manager.

Stay until you hit mgr. Also take the mgr training that you get in year 1. Mgr training at Accenture is really good

That would be wrong. Accenture training is really good when it comes to learning how to execute and deliver large projects.

If you go to Accenture training expecting to learn technology then you will be disappointed

In the last two year I’ve gotten more and more into alcohol free beer. The selection in my country (Europe) is still small and mainly driven by the big brands (e.g. Heineken). Any thoughts on that idea or someone who has experience in the market?
