At this stage you honestly fucked up, cause if they come back with the top of your range and you try to renegotiate you will look bad and likely lose an offer. I would say if they really like you and make and offer you can come back and say your current employer is offering you a lot more to keep you and ask for a starting bonus. EY doesn’t really do starting bonus for experienced hires, so they might increase your offer. Likely though you made a mistake and have to live with it.
What range did you give them? And for what office?
What range did you give them?
If you have another offer which is higher than the range you provided, you can negotiate further, or else take the top of your range
Well, how badly do you want the job and how badly do you think EY wants you? Honestly, just tell the recruiter your understanding of where the market is at, your previous range didn't take that into account, and ask them what they are willing to do. If you think the 15-20k bump is realistic for where you fall in the market, you'll get it from another consulting company.
EY does do joining bonus. I negotiated 7.5k in joining bonus when I did the switch
Going to be rough since you gave a range - even if they gave you the upper part of that?
Thanks M1. I know I made a mistake. I was not expecting that question from an interviewer who was ED and gave a low range. When I saw some posts here on FB I realize I made a mistake. Surprised to know EY doesn’t do starting bonus. Will def try that angle and see what they come back with.
How far below market is your range?
15-20k
If you are really looking for some good advice, why are you shy of sharing the range? It would be much easier for the 🐟 to help you
