Yes within TAS OTS and now that we’ve merged with Parthenon it’s the same group
Yea pretty solid I think especially if you’re in TAS. Outside of MBB and other boutique firms, this might be the best group
There's also ITAS which does both advisory(strategy.. Such as data strategy) and implementation. Btw, as far as my experience with EY, EY does not distinguish between advisory and consulting the way Deloitte does. At EY, consulting and advisory means the same thing.
Deloitte categorizes their technology + management consulting practices under consulting, and their risk work under advisory. EY does not technically have a risk/other split, they are all under advisory.
Clarity required here...
Advisory and TAS are two separate parts of the business. Operational Transaction Services (OTS) is a part of TAS that has merged with Parthenon to become EY Strategy & Operations. There is an IT vertical within this group that was legacy OTS that does IT strategy work and IT operations work, but it is predominantly operational eg standalone analysis, separation work etc. There is also some legacy Parthenon people that did IT strategy but much of this was in the context of ODD from my understanding. However, someone from Parthenon can jump in here...
Separately, we also have Advisory that is non-transaction related consulting. They also have an IT team but my understanding is it is predominantly operational with a bit of strategy. However, someone actually from EY Advisory needs to comment on this...
I think advisory does a lot more digital transformation work than necessarily IT strategy work. The IT group within advisory does strategic assessments so that they can then do the implementation because implementations are typically bigger money. In PI though, each group does technology. I can tell you that I have done a supply chain tech strategy project in our supply chain group. I imagine the same thing happens in the other competencies.
