EY - my Apple Watch reimbursement was denied on WageWorks. Any advice on how I can submit so it's covered?

If you read exclusions it clearly states Apple watch is not covered

like

So I bought an Apple Watch, and submitted a claim for the description "Activity tracker/iWatch/Smart Watch (biannually purchased starting 1/1/17 forward)."

The claim was denied under the reason "this product/service does not qualify for reimbursement under this program"

In the claim, I was clearly able to select a description that included "iWatch" so what is this about? I submitted my email receipt from the Apple Store, and Apple Store pickup confirmation.

Has anyone else been able to get reimbursement for their Apple Watch? Any advice?

like

Also, the description including iWatch is listed as covered for 75%, max benefit of $150

like

They must have changed the program; I got my Apple Watch reimbursed the first year QOL came out

like

I got my Apple Watch reimbursed. It was back in December. Maybe try again?

like

just got mine reimbursed a week ago.

like

@EY1 Aww man, seriously? Where did you find exclusions? I scoured that WageWorks page and only came across the eligible expense list. I know it says smart watch accessories aren't included, but "iWatch/Smartwatch" is a bit misleading if an Apple Watch isn't covered

like

Buy something and then just return it. You may then go and get your watch for free!

like

Maybe you didnt submit enough evidence

like

Got reimbursed as well

like

Yup. The document list iWatch. If you purchased before March 31 is has to be submitted before that. How long ago did you buy it? Call wageworks.

like

Should I get one? What are the benefits?

Call them & find out what happened.

@EY3 just got it in September, so I wouldn't think it's a timing issue

@EY7 that was my thought too, but I submitted my receipt (that has my name on it) and the pickup confirmation. Not sure what other documentation I could upload besides maybe a picture of me wearing it? 😅

@EY6 - what did you submit as documentation? And did you get one of the Nike Apple watches? I just got the series 3, which still has all the activity tracking stuff but I'm not sure if that had an impact or not.

I got a series 2. And it seems like I got 75% if the cost reimbursed. Not just $150. I bought it in Black Friday last year.
