Hello, I have received an offer from Southwest Airlines as a Associate Technology Analyst with their direct college hire program. Will be graduating in May with a degree in MIS and also have internships experience as a Business Systems analyst intern. The salary compensation started off at 66,500 but was looking for the 75k range and they got back to me saying the best they can do is 68,500. They also have a 401k company match up to 9.3%. Do you think this is a solid offer for this job market?

Though PI is soft right now. I still like my imagery
OP, you didn't generate $20M in sales as a senior. You either were part of an extension on a large project or worked on some proposals. I hate how people loosely throw the word "sales" around in consulting
Salty like a sailor's balls
LOL. You're getting royally screwed
126 is poverty in NYC. Think about it. You're a manager. An investment banking analyst at 22 years old makes 125-150 their first year.
Whole thread turned into fake news when $20M in sales was thrown out there.
I should mention that I have an MBA as well
What were you at before? I think the band starts at $115k lowest for Manager is my guess. $138k is a nut high for the min. But I think you are shafted since you are an MBA. Did you get hired right after MBA? You're supposed to be getting ~150K as a senior 2
*is a bit high
Rating? Assume 5 if it was an S2 to M1 promote. Your research is also off. Some M1s are sub-100 in NY.
Thanks for the insight EY3. My irritation stems from my knowledge of what incoming folks from target schools earn, when I've got the same qualifications, have proven myself, excelled on major projects on marquee accounts, and have had highly visible roles. I just happened to not go to a target school. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think that as a proven commodity, my value should be at least that of incoming folks...
Aside from that, my other data point is research on EY PI manager salary bands in NYC
EY4- I was initially rated a 4, but somehow brought down to a 3 despite hitting utilization targets, fully managing engagements, having multiple, highly visible roles at key accounts, and generating $20m in sales
I came in as an S2 at $102K. Best way to negotiate is to have an offer from elsewhere to use as leverage
Agree with m2 to claim "you sold" means you found the account or client it was not an existing client where we just renewed some bullshit sox or fso engagement,
Ultimately, I'm just trying to understand if it's a fair salary (whether I agree with it or not) based on the profile details that I shared. I've seen folks come on both sides. This will help me determine if I look for other opportunities. I really do enjoy it at EY, and have made some great relationships. But if I'm below market value, then I would consider my options.
@OP, I take it you are not in strategy, correct? EY advisory strat M1 is 150-160. What are you aligned to?
It's not hard to get your name added to the pursuit team in interaction to gain sales credit
From where?
$140 as senior 2 MBA 1st year.. For PI MBAs location is moot. Please ask for higher so bad precedent is not set.
Didn't come directly from b-school. I was brought in as an S1 in Jan 2016, and got promoted to M from S2 this year. I came in at $115k, which I thought was a tad low. Plus, since it was halfway through the year, I wasn't eligible for an annual raise, so it stayed at that level until now. I got my MBA from BU which is non-target
