EY 🐠 whats your view on HRs and how they operate in North America, i was surprised to see non responsive HRs, especially on time sensitive things like immigration, travel approvals, even joining dates, sending equipments.
Spouse ended up with unnecessary break in service, overall experience was really bad, unless EY give great work opportunities I don’t see her staying more than 6 months.

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.

I just received my last paycheck from my company with 160 hours of vacation supplement on it. I didn’t have any vacation days left when I resigned. Is this an accident? Will my former company come after me for this money? It’s a little under $10k..

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
