Today I learned a new thing. One candidate was referred by a colleague of mine in the system. He got selected and offer letter rolled out.

When he checked the system he realized the referral was not taken and the background system captured it as direct hire.

So my friend is not going to get any referral incentive.

Wondering if anyone else faced the same issue?

Just how bad would it be to quit without a two week notice? I’ve been bait & switched into a horrible role, overworked to the point of having medical problems, and no amount of diplomatic talks with my manager has improved the day to day. My mental health and my personal relationships have been on a steady decline.

I don’t have another job lined up yet. But I’m danger close to quitting and taking my chances with freelance. Could it be worth it?

Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. Context, i have 10+ years in advertising experience, and founded a startup in 2020 (with a Sr Developer as cofounder) but had to drop the startup for personal reasons (moving to another country) and i really liked building a product and getting technical.
