Half of the people I know who have taken it failed it at least once. Those same people passed the regular bar on the first try. You're not stupid it's just a hard test. I would take a 3 hr practice exam at least once a week. Definitely use a prep course if you're not already. Well worth the $2k or whatever it is
I really struggled with it, too. You're not dumb. It's a crummy test. I found that studying the table of contents really helped me. It sounds silly, but knowing where to look helped me find stuff much faster. There was just no way I was going to remember where all of it was. Good luck!!!
I don't know any recruiters who have actually taken the patent bar! It would have been fantastic to work with someone like you when I was looking years ago
Did you take the PLI course? The firm I was at gave two weeks paid leave and I drilled 50 questions in the AM, reviewed, and then drilled 50 questions in the PM and reviewed for those two weeks every day. I made sure I had completed all the videos before my two weeks started.
So sorry. I failed it once before passing. How are you studying? What prep course are you using?
I know plenty of people that failed and now have very successful careers.
It’s an easy test to underestimate. You really need to study hard for a few weeks and, more importantly, do practice questions.
Are you reviewing your test after each time? It’s another couple hundred and has to be scheduled like 14 days after your exam at the earliest. This helped me.
