Can we expect a permanent wfh option?
I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.
Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.
JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?

Hi guys, Now VMware is offering me a 35% percent hike of what I am earning at DellEmc. I just completed one year at DellEmc. Total 2.7YOE But I don't like to go out of Dell, due to some personal commitments I am planning to switch.
Is it a good time to switch?
Can I talk with my manager ?
Are they able to hike the salary of what VMware is offering? Please suggest me.

Thanks all! I found a fancy coffee shop in a really nice part of town, called them and they said they have business meetings take place there all the time and the barista would save a table for me if I told him what slot I was looking for. Going to go with suit, no tie. Thanks for all your help!
I’d hire you just for that due diligence. Best of luck!
Things happen, it’s a bit unusual but i wouldn’t get too hung up on it. I’d take it as a good sign. Means you’ve cleared all the gates, partner just wants to make sure you’re not an idiot with 3 arms.
I would look for a larger lunch spot like a First Watch, McCormick’s Deli, etc and propose a lunch meet. That way you can grab a table away from as much hubbub as possible.
Coffee shops can be hit or miss based upon their size.
Panera bread is a good option as well.
Since the Partner is WFH, I’d say biz casual is safe. Safest would be blazer and slacks.
I’d wear a tie (unless you’re in tech). Basically, just demo how you’d turn up to a Client meeting.
Yep, I’d roll with the tie too even in tech. I’ve never once thought, damn this guy is dressed too nice. I don’t want him on my team. However, I’ve thought that someone doesn’t really care about this job, a number of times based on dress.. people are judgy man..
I would not go to a park. Too loud/crowded/informal. If coffee place is crowded, the lobby at a nearby hotel is probably your best bet. As a point of reference on location selection, think: ‘where would I go to study for an exam’ not ‘where would I go to catch up with an old friend’
Dress up.
Another option is grab coffee then go to a nearby park in case the Starbucks is crowded.
Good luck - I don’t understand why the recruiter would ask you to choose a spot if that’s where the partner lives
1) yes coffee place.
2) suit no tie
Not saying that’s the only correct route but the above is what i’d do in your position. I agree that the approach they’ve taken is slightly weird (they could’ve at least picked the place for you) but seems like now time to just go with the flow and make it happen
Caveat on 2 (suit no tie) if they wear ties in the office wear one to the interview .
Suggest meeting at their house. Bring a bottle of whisky. Get the job
Meet somewhere near where he lives and recruiter asked me to choose a place.
1) where do I suggest we meet? Like a coffee place? Starbucks?
2) do I dress up and wear suit/tie for this?
Seems a bit odd to be honest.
Only do Starbucks if it’s not a super busy one/time. Otherwise pick a lesser known coffee shop. If you do get there super early so you can make sure to get a good seat for both of you. Otherwise it’ll get real awkward. Definitely still wear a suit. He may not be, but he’s not interviewing. Oh and knock’em dead! Good luck man!!
