Feel like I made a mistake becoming a designer. I hate my job, can't focus on anything, and am always thinking about how I should have made different decisions and I would have been more successful (either portfolio or salary wise). Just absolutely done with this profession, though specifically advertising, the bullshit it entails, and my inability to fit in despite my talent. If you're not a hustler and your life goal has become to just survive until the world ends, do software engineering.

Though my current company is an mnc but not that big and no work pressure is there, amazing work life balance. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Like in 5-10 years I wouldn’t want to be a specialist or a ux director. I d like to be an art director or creative director. I love branding & marketing but also product. I started a full time in-house design job that pays extremely well. I barely have to work at all. This makes me very confused since I kept hearing stories of people working 60+ hr weeks as designers at ad agencies. I am not complaining, but I have this creeping irrational feeling that I’ll get fired for not working even though there’s nothing for me to do. Should i be making up projects or asking for more work? Or just chill out? I just feel very confused. Are a lot of full time jobs like this?
