If you are an M2 and stressed out then I can’t imagine your plight when you will be an SM.
I left EY when I was an SM1 with a little one, EY was taking away all my time everyday from Mon to Fri, weekends were spent dreading about upcoming week. But I do miss EY, smart colleagues who pushed me to do better.
Indeed, I don’t think I have a desire to become SM from what I’ve seen. I think it’s probably hitting me hard how this might be how far I take it.
I have found it very sustainable with an 8:30-5 work day. Yes it’s tough to step away for 30 min (unless I preschedule it), but I honestly think any job where you are in senior leadership and managing lots of people will be tough to do that.
I appreciate this perspective. I think I may have had it easier with one of my long term clients/projects and I may need to readjust to establish boundaries.
Yes - being away from work can get stressful and constant online adds to it
However, been trying g to find ways to make it more manageable with stricter diary management, more delegation, caring slightly less, etc.
