Are you showing that you are a nice person in the interviews? Culture is huge in corporate finance as opposed to consulting, it seems not so important
I would consider some interview coaching OP just to make sure. I'm sure you're coming off that way, but there might be a blind spot or two that could help you get through to the additional rounds
Have you ever thought about Restructuring and Turnaround
I can share more about Restructuring/Turnaround opportunities. I know a few places where this need is going to be huge in the next few months
Have you tried reaching out to recruiters? If not, I suggest you focus more on networking. You should also consider the possibility of any issues in your resume as stated above. Best of luck!

This is a good move. Recruiters will do a ton of work for you if your experience is decent

Wow you're experience is kinda everywhere... Are you looking at sfa roles? Agree, it can be hard to go from audit to fa
Yep, I wanted to get out of audit but really didn’t want to go the senior accountant route/acctg mgr route.
Are you getting interviews? If not, it may be a resume issue.
If you're getting interviews and not landing any then maybe focus on improving your interviewing skills. As mentioned on the thread before, sometimes being likeable trumps being technical. You can always learn the technical things on the job.
Make sure you're making the audit work you did as relatable as possible to the role you want.
Also, try networking and not just applying so that you have some leverage through a referral or something. Happy to take a look at your resume if you'd like.
Surprising that you haven’t gotten looks with your background / experience. Would spend time (or money if need be) getting your resume reviewed to ensure you are highlighting the right things, and same thing with your interviewing skills to make sure you are not bombing any initial screens / first rounds. Also make sure you are not applying cold - go through recruiters, have coffee chats with people in those roles currently who can get you in front of people. Should not be a super difficult move to make with your experience.
I was thinking of getting my resume reviewed from Wall Street Oasis but I just spoke with a finance recruiter last week who did a resume review for me inadvertently for free. We talked for like an hour, she told me what to put/cut out. I do have an interview coming up next week as an AVP credit risk officer for a large international commercial bank that I’m literally perfect for + the pay is really good, it’s something I’d never thought I’d be considered for with my audit background. Yep, cold direct applying via LinkedIn has been terrible and ruining my confidence seeing rejection emails over and over but Fishbowl referrals have been great and making me feel way more confident I’ll land something soon!
Where are you based? I have a good recruiter for chicago roles for finance areas
