Feeling like next economic downturn is on the horizon. How bad were layoffs during the recession in '08? Is there anything one can do to prepare?

I am suppose to join BNY Pune on grade I very soon. Wanted to check on how is the bank doing in the recession time. Any chances of layoffs predicted? Is the bank suffering any loss?

I work on a consulting team at a large software company. I’m a job hopper, around 2 years each at my first and second jobs and a little over a year at this job. I recently found out they’re shutting my team down. We’re not fired, but they’re transferring us to the core implementation team, which has a horrible reputation for malignancy, overworking, and isn’t at all what I was hired to do. How hard is it going to be to for me to find a new job? Should I just stay and try things out? What next?

Should people be fired for lack of people skills?

I am seeking new employment, I was recently laid off due to lack of work. I would very much appreciate any leads. I have a Bs in Construction Management and over 15 years experience with Revit and AutoCAD and 7 years of plumbing design. I have solid references and impeccable work ethic. I truly enjoy what I do. I'll go first: on a last night out for a navy guy I'd dated for like 6mo he dragged us to king street where i never enjoy, at the bar w the toss the ring game a couple was fucking in the bathroom and the guy in front of me in line was mad about it taking so long so he started banging on the door trying to break it down and started to fight them when they came out. So we escaped to kickbacks where a customer threw a drink at the waitress who subsequently pulled a 🔪
