Whatever advice people give you, make sure the problem you're solving is "What is best for me and my long term career goals?" and not "How can I make this one particular job more tolerable?"
Lies. Get out if you’re unhappy.
Same situation but 9 months in. On my second project now. What is it about consulting that you don’t like?
I’m on my 2nd project and everyday I think about leaving but my first 1st project wasn’t bad. I think it’s the teams that you work with that makes the difference
I agree with D1. You gotta wait at least two years. The best way to see how good you have it is to go somewhere else. It’s a shame but you have it pretty good. You just don’t know it. Fix what you can and accept what you can’t control. Attitude is a lot of the solution
Stick it out for 2-3 years and then move on. By that time you'll have gained valuable experience and skills and will easily be able to move into another industry.
Same situation 1 year in. I don’t agree with sticking it out if you’ve found what you want to do instead and aren’t doing that type or work/projects that don’t provide any related skills. For me, I just found the company lied to me in terms of what I could do and the number of people I talk to and have seen leave at all levels only confirm that.
Focus on the skills you want to build and that might make it more tolerable. After 2 years, you’ll have a solid list of transferable skills to take somewhere else. But, if you are truly miserable, follow your gut. Life is too short to be unhappy everyday at work. Good luck!
Why don’t you think it’s for you? Depending on the reason, some things may be fixable
I also wanted to leave my first few months as a new hire. I gave it a chance and found another practice that I want to pursue as a career. Im glad I gave it a chance, but I know other people who want to leave and that’s fine as well
If you don't have any visa restrictions or work permit constraints then get the hell out! Give it a chance obviously but after a year if you don't like it then leave...dont waste your time...life is too short
I’m glad I stuck it out because second project has been SO much better I really love it and the people and the work so far, so thanks for all the advice ❤️
