I do give my self some off-days (don't like calling them cheat days) and the next 3-4 days are hard.
One thing, that I found works for me, is to plan ahead. Don't get caught by cravings. Strategize where you are going to eat and what before you need to make a decision. It makes it easier
The cravings will be there, they do go away after a few days. Remember the end-goal and what you've accomplished and how that makes you feel.
Godspeed.
I always start a day with a lot of fats after I fall off, and make sure I hit the gym for at least an hour 3 days in a row with some sort of cardio involved. It tends to kick me back over into ketosis much faster and allows me to time box some carbs (eating slightly carby food like sweet potatoes 2 hours before or after) without it pulling me out
It will get easier. You can do anything for 1 day. 1 day turns into 2, then 4, then a week, then a month. Oh, and Moon Cheese. Know it, love it.
Is it about cravings or habits? For example, we do ice cream nights on Sundays in my house. A tradition. That was an adjustment, but overcomeable. Are you getting enough fats in? I have no cravings at all, and very little appetite.
Do a 24 hr fast. Should kick you back into it depending on how keto adapted you were before you fell off
Get back on it?
@EY1 craving for carbs are out of control. Hopefully I can but would love any hints at how to be successful if you have any.
Thanks @EY1. 🙏 I’m horrible at planning ahead but I’ll see what I can get together these next few days.
Plan ahead and eat a lot of fats in the morning to keep yourself full throughout the day
OP, what carbs are you craving? There’s a keto equivalent for almost anything. I still eat noodles (shirataki) and pizza / garlic sticks (fathead dough), for starters.
@EY 2 I’ve been craving croissants, bagels, baklava and honey in my morning tea. I’m not trying to find replacements for these, but just these are the foods I really want (note that these are not what I ate, I just did poorly at keeping to serving sizes and it messed with my macros this week)
