Bain & Company Contemplating a move from Accenture Strategy to Strategy&, or Monitor Deloitte. Part of my consideration is the assumption that WLB is likely to be better than at McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, or Bain & Company. Could any of you fellow European fishies shed some light on the validity of this assumption? Sharing experiences would be highly appreciated.

I’ve been an overemployed SFA in FP&A for over two years. Most ME closes are still different enough that you can manage time around responsibilities. I used to book JEs on week 1 for J1 and then do board reporting on week 2 for J2. J2 didn’t require JEs and J1 didnt have much reporting, so it worked out.
Take the first few months on J2 to figure out where you can flex time and manage them both.
Also, during your interviews you can ask what close is like. Look for jobs that will fit what you need before accepting. Looking at companies of different sizes can help you find different close structures (i.e a company with a large/solid accounting team might mean reduced FP&A close work on week 1.)
