I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

Follow the money, you can always return to consulting

How do you even need advice? Facepalm
Can I ask what company is willing to pay that much for a program manager? Even $50k over my current salary to jump to industry would be very attractive for me.
$100k more? … take it
It’s 100k bro. Go and boomerang back if you must do consulting.
If you aren't interested, please send that job my way!
Me three.
Just to clarify: take it
First, congrats.
Second, you’d be insane not to take a 100k increase. Consulting will always be there to bounce back to if you end up hating the industry job.
Do you mean $10k more? If $100k then go.
Mate consulting sucks what are you doing.
Send my resume to that company?
Take it then hire me at only 50k more I’m really affordable budget friendly

Take the money don’t even think about it.
This seems like a really easy decision
Unless you’re already making $900k, go for it
Alternative perspective... $100k more doesn't matter if you hate it the whole time. I get the idea of liking consulting. As a Manager, you're not just executing functionally, but in the business of consulting. What firm? What kind of work do you do? There may be opportunities to make more and stay in an industry you enjoy.
Given the average lifespan of a consultant, it is far from certain you’ll always feel this way about consulting.
The 100k is certain. What’s also certain is you can always come back to consulting.
What isn’t certain is that you’ll ever have another opportunity to wake up tomorrow and have an extra 5-6k a month hitting your bank account (depending on tax rates and such).
That is crazy money to forgo!

You know what to do. Take the offer and bring me along 🥺
You’d be crazy not to take it. Take it and if you don’t like it then come back to consulting.
Consulting will always be there and need warm bodies for fresh new death marches.
100k bumps in comp are ridiculous rare.
Is this a trick Q? Is this posted by HR??
I mean, what would HR gain from this?
Just to clarify, the 100k is made up of higher base, yearly stock allocation and yearly bonus
Financial services lol
