My husband and I (both 27) max out our Roth IRAs each year, have a complete emergency fund, and I’m able to start maxing my 401K this year (he contributes 10% to his 401K - it isn’t possible for him to max his based on his current pay). We contribute 18% extra towards principal on our mortgage each month. We now have about $20k of additional savings we want to figure out what to do with. What would you recommend to someone who is new to stocks/investments?
Looking to get into healthcare somewhere in the big 4! Someone point me in the right direction! No real preference what firm as long as the healthcare team is strong...any advice?
McKinsey Implementation Consultants - Healthcare Specific : Keep seeing this pop up on my radar via LinkedIn and am very intrigued. Any insider scoop on types of engagements, length, etc.
New to investing, but want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. I've maxed out my 401K and am looking to open an IRA. I know everyone recommends backdooring this into a Roth IRA, but if my plan is to move/retire to a state with no state income tax, wouldn't traditional make more sense? Or am I overthinking this? Also, if I go the backdoor route, how do I make sure I don't get taxed again, when i convert to a Roth? Thanks in advance!
Hi Fishes, I have recently joined PwC SDC as an Associate 2. Wanted to know that is there any smartphone reimbursement or mobile phone program here. TIA!

Anyone started a new job while pregnant? How’d you work out maternity leave as sometimes you’d have to be with the company for a year.
I committed to being here for 3 years to get that pension $. But it’s been 6 weeks and I already hate it. Someone please tell me it gets better.
Anyone else care more about getting into a top grad school (ivy- MIT-Stanford) more to please your grandparents and overseas relatives than the career benefits? I feel a weight has been lifted as the eldest sibling
Do people front load their 401k contributions? I put in 30% for the first 6 months and then prorate up to the max for the last 6. Also, anyone know a way where we can put an explicit $ amount in instead of percent? I'd like to be at $19,500 to the cent at EOY
Second year Consultant who came from a benefits broker. I feel like I am very much still learning the ropes of consulting. Was asked to help on a deck for proposal work for something I have no background/knowledge in. Told by the partner that I wouldn’t be creating content just story boarding and managing and organizing in the deck. The manager, familiar with the proposed solution, however seems to be annoyed with me that I didn’t create content. Not sure what to make of this?
🐟s: I'm trying to decide which credit card to axe if I get approved for the CSR. Are there any real benefits of the American Airlines Advantage Citi Platinum Card? At $95/year,time to get rid of it?
“Per diem” meal expenses are EXPLOITATION. $50 is not enough for a single meal at a hotel restaurant, let alone an entire DAY for food. Shifting travel costs onto your employees = evil. Yes i mad :<
Does anyone know what Discover's tuition reimbursement plan is? Do you have to work there for a certain length before being eligible or a contract for how long you must remain there afterwards?
How much do people save, pre and post tax, including 401k contributions? I’m 2 years out of college, no debt, making 90k a year, saving around 30% pre tax a year, wondering how others think about this

My base salary progression with 3-4 YoE: 60K (Company 1), 71K (Company 2), and currently 83K (Company 2, Promo). My consulting focus is currently in healthcare. Having salary negotiations next week with a midsize tier 3 firm within their strategy consulting practice. What’s the bare minimum I should aim for as base salary? Glassdoor shows a wide range from 95k-125k. My target is 110k-120k. Is this a stretch?
Was reached out to by a Vynamic recruiter Really want to get into healthcare-specific consulting, but would love to move into this space along with a bump. Currently make $120k base ~10k bonus per year with 4.5 YOE. Anyone know of Vynamic’s average comp at the Manager level & if I can expect an increase?
Anyone know the implications of having a side tax business while at a big 4? I have done returns in the past but setup an entity for liability protection. If I report it will there be an issue?
Is this a red flag? I have been at 2 companies and have 3 YOE. 2 years at the first company and 1 at the second. Company I’m interviewing with right now is dragging me through the coals about it like I’m some kind of serial job hopper. Ive never experienced this at any other interview I’ve had. Is this seriously that big of a deal?
My wife has a job opportunity in San Diego. We are thinking about moving from dc. Anyone have thoughts on sd? We have visited a few times, but mostly for touristy things.
People who have the Amex platinum - how did you use the airfare credit? Preferred airline is UA and I don’t want to lose the credit at the end of December. No other trips planned until next year.

Is it common for firms to offer part-time? Difference between associates and partners? How do the hours and pay compare to regular hours and pay (do you actually work less, or does your team need help so you end up working basically full time for less compensation)?
Just so much happiness and I need space to gush. My boyfriend is the most amazing man I’ve ever met. He makes me feel safe and loved and is absolutely crazy about me. We see each other a couple of times a week and it’s always super fun and peaceful and the sex and emotional connection is perfect. I’m so lucky to have met him in nyc and he tells me he feels lucky too. We’re discussing our future and having 3 kids together and I can’t wait to call him my husband and father of our gorgeous children
