My wife started as an M at Accenture earlier this year coming from industry. I’ve never worked at Accenture or any b4, but I had to explain to her how up or out works. She also didn’t know that she came in with 24 months at level and what that meant. Really surprised none of this was communicated during hiring or by her manager.

Heard general consensus is suit supply is good and indochino is bad
Personally I can only go
Custom as it fits my body type and measurements perfectly. Indochino does the job for me, with great customization.
Brooks brothers. Quality is good.

Idk what happened but the fabric doesn’t feel the same, they definitely are cheaping out on either vendors or material quality
I went with Mens Wearhouse. The guy even guaranteed that I’d like the way I looked

Ted Baker all the way!
Make sure it fits. Most Americans wear suits 2 sizes too big.
Hugo Boss is great too. Nordstrom Rack has occasional grabs, have to go there frequently to find them but it’s worth it when you do. Got an amazing Varvados blazer for $60 recently.
Bespoke all the way! You don’t actually have to pay that much more and the fit is infinitely better!
I highly recommend Spier and Mackay. For the price, you actually get pretty amazing fabric from some of the well known high-end European mills. Construction is very solid, and fits are contemporary with some really classic and elegant designs.
Also, FWIW I have suits from both Spier and Mackay and Suitsupply, and Suitsupply is definitely higher end but WAY more expensive. S&M is a substantially better deal. S&M also doesn’t have retail locations so the lack of overhead on their end saves you a bit.
Buy a branded suit you like secondhand but a few sizes too big and have a tailor adjust it to your measurements. Get the fancy fabric and cut for fraction of the cost while looking like you spent more than retail. Added bonus you can claim ‘it’s vintage’ if that’s your kind of thing.
OP, to tailor this advice somewhat (pun intended), I would recommend figuring out your measurements at the following points: shoulders (end to end), chest (circumference under the armpits), waist (around your navel), and length (bottom of collar to hem of jacket). For pants, the main things to check are waist size (and amount of room to let out), front rise (distance from the belt to the bottom of the crotch), and leg opening width.
Go on ebay and use those measurements to guide you. There’s a lot of really spectacular stuff there that’s even new (deadstock) and you can clean up with some patience and luck. Find a good alterations tailor to get you to perfection.

indochino blows; suit supply is great
Zegna
D3. The 1.5-2K suit is worth it. 6K is not.
Don’t worry too much about brands. You should really focus on construction. Avoid fused or glued suits (pretty much all of the fashion brands like Armani, Burberry, etc.). You want a half or full canvas suit and older fabric mills (vitale barberis canonico, drago and zegna are the best old school mills but don’t go to a zegna store). If you stick with those two criteria you will probably have a good suit. In terms of brands SuitSupply or pini Parma are the cheapest options (~$1000) but you could also go with brioni or brunello cucinelli (amazing quality but sell your kidney first). You might be able to find a local tailor as well but again ask if they use canvas construction and ask what fabric mills they use first.
Suit supply
Walmart. You’re welcome

I just wear my birthday suit. SUPER sexy 🔥
Great pockets for holding your business cards 🥴
Regretted my indochino suit. Why bother using measurements for a "custom" fit if you're not going to follow them and can't even make the arms the same length 🫠
I just got a suit supply custom tux for my wedding. I’m very happy with it.
Indochino = bad
I wear bar iii
Suit supply because it’s accessible, stylish & easily tailorable. Once you land your measurements post tailoring, I’d recommend Spier & Mackay.
They’ve got SuSu beat on quality and sartorial details (if you care about that). They also have an excellent mtm program once you know your sizing

How much you want to spend? SuitSupply seems unbeatable in the lower tier ranges. Once upon a time I had Mens Warehouse or Jos A Bank suits (can’t remember which one, but they’re essentially the same), and I wound up donating them.
Zegna is my favorite. Also a big fan of Canali. If American stuff is more your style, I also have suits I really like from Hickey Freeman and Hart Schaffner Marx (Obama wore them primarily). Both of those can be had for big discounts at Saxs off Fifth or Nordstrom Rack. Would pay $1,500 for them like list price, but at $500-700 they’re really nice half canvas suits.
I have a BB Golden Fleece blazer (gift) which is nice but not worth the upchrage from their normal stuff IMO.
I’d definitely take Hickey Freeman over BB since BB’s bankruptcy. I’ve found the quality of BB clothes lately to be diminished and HF mainline (full canvas) suits and jackets are quite good.
I’d say check out Spier and Mackay as an alternative to Suitsupply. Same business model/value prop, but I think more interesting fabrics and styling.
Tom Ford, but notch lapels only
I can’t pull off peak lapels
