Got a 30% salary bump, via an offer for Senior Consultant S&O from Deloitte. Currently underpaid at EY Advisory. I'm MBA and this year is my promotion year at EY for Manager. What to do? Get demoted and move to D? Or counter at EY? Even if EY matches my salary, and promote me to Manager, I will be an EY Manager with a Deloitte SC salary, and probably won't be able to go to D in the future. What do you think? I have built up a good relationship with my Partner and SMs at EY though.

Trying to set family expectations and would love thoughts on 2 things. 1. How long after baby will I be ready for visitors beyond our parents? I’m thinking a few weeks. 2. I interviewed with the internal consulting group of a large bank for a Director role. They came back and offered SVP, $225k with 20% bonus. Im a newly minted SM, whose base is $185k and bonus around 18-20% and my ratings are/have always been top end. Lots of “brand” recognition by the partners and throughout the practice, so nobody busts my balls. However my practice is highly specialized and this would give me an opportunity to work more strategically but im starting all over again. Stay or Go?

If I get laid off, I have a previous colleague that started a cybersecurity company. I would love to get involved on the business side of it. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
