Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

It’s a nice to have, it’s not going to be a driving factor. Maybe if there’s another candidate with the same experience PMP could shift the weight but that’s it. If you’re in the Public Sector it holds a little more weight since some contracts require it for their PMs
Yes - I work in healthcare and life sciences and IT / software implementation
PMP has gotten me interest from recruiters, made me a candidate for interviews. I still had to land the job, but PMP opened doors.
I have been PMP certified for 10 years. First job following PMP certification was $65k / year, I am $150k now - more than doubled.
But it also gave me a framework to use when managing projects. I am more strategic because of the overarching knowledge I gained from the curriculum.
I think the PMP has been helpful for my career. Agree what was said earlier - government contracts are currently often requiring PMPs be part of the team. The PMP helps you qualify for more roles. Right now it’s sort of a trendy credential; not sure for how long that will be the case.
Yes he helped, but after we received the initial money, having him around was just too threatening to my new managers.
PMP’in ain’t easy
Definitely helped with securing a new role and income to go along with it.

Certifications open doors, actually being able to do what it says and proving it to those with more experience let’s you go through it.
It’s sometimes required for certain roles on government contracts. Probably no salary boost directly. May indirectly help get you one by getting you in to a more managerial role and then you can use that managerial experience to get hired by another company at higher pay.
Probably landed my job. Without it I won’t be able to get the interview
I don’t know about salary but it definitely helps stand out when applying because it’s well known and respected
Its helped me do my job a lot better
