For those with school districts closed or facing an impending school closure, how are you managing work and childcare. I feel like it’s a matter of time for us (I’m in NJ) and beyond stressed.

My SO is an alcohol abuser but has said he knows it’s a problem and would like to cut back or quit. Any suggestions or advice in how to help and cope with this. He becomes a different person when he drinks. I want to support him but don’t know how or where to start.

Family luddites ask about my work and immediately behave annoyed when I start to answer.

How is everyone’s workload? I was insanely busy the last month but the past week or so has slowed significantly.

It’s been 3 years since I (27F) moved to Seattle and still don’t have a solid social circle. Not necessarily a big group… I’m talking 3-4 friends who are easy going and not flakey/ hard to make plans with.

Idk if it’s due to Covid, Seattle freeze, a combination of the two or other factors. Any transplants out there who are NOT the outdoorsy type and feel the same? And if so, how did you get past it?

My SO adds very little to our relationship. She has a dead end job. I cook. I work. I oversee finances. I plan trips. She doesn’t have a voice in the relationship. I’ve asked her to give her perspective but she always defaults to mine bc she thinks I’m smarter/worldly. She feels intimated by me and my social circle. Lately, I’ve found myself thinking for her. job 2 or atleast offer (Senior Manager 3 days a months in office( Banking firm) minimum, people manager for 24/7 infra operations teams and new project)taking a salary cut of 8k in base and with better WLb( hr) says so in interview. I am too confused. On job security we all know we can't guarantee anything.

Husband and I are planning to rent a car (we wipe the entire inside and handles down with bleach wipes) and drive to a state over (only 5 hours, no pit stops) to pod up with my parents for a month or two. We will be wearing masks and social distancing with my parents until everyone is tested and confirmed negative. My husband goes to the grocery store once a week, other than that we do not interact with others and have taken the pandemic very seriously. Is this a bad idea? Second guessing myself

I think Im a pretty good/almost high performer but only around 3 years and my boss seems to still act like I’m brand new (lifer boomer). I try to tell myself he has 6 direct reports and has to do this with everyone, Im no more or no less special - but I hate these convos and negative feedback even when most of it is unsurprising/fair feedback.
