For years I’ve felt that I cannot make (or keep) time to focus on my bigger picture goals because I get pulled in a million directions every day. And advice on how this works for you? Simply blocking my calendar doesn’t do it bc I get pulled into emails, chats, other distractions

It’s more than just blocking time off on the calendar - that is important, it’s also turning off email notifications, and used that blocked off time to schedule do not disturb on chat or turn off notifications.

The other thing I do is to appear offline on teams but work earlier in the day and then just mouse wiggle in the afternoon or take care of personal computer stuff so I’m not working a 12 hour day.

Put your own SLA in place for responding to things like emails and chats. You don’t have to publish it; people will figure it out. For example, only checking and responding to emails in a few dedicated blocks throughout the day.

Same with chats. If something is truly urgent, they’ll find you.

For those who were diagnosed as an adult can you provide some insight into how you were able to obtain a diagnosis. I went to my primary care dr who referred me to another dr who specialized in mental health. He asked me about 5 questions before telling me I should see a neuropsychologist for an official assessment. The referral he gave me is super pricey and apparently isn’t covered by insurance. Is that normal?

Best tips for someone who has object permanence issues? If I put something down or away the chances I forget it and never come back to it are at least 50/50. How do you keep your home/office space clutter free without putting things where they'll never be found again? Or I guess how do you remember to go back to them? Help
