Some UX Slack channels were doing well for a while but I definitely don’t see as much traction there. Meetups obviously came and went. Even the portfolio sites like Dribbble and Behance don’t seem that same.

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. I need advice about Zoom. Is it easier to have a zoom link with your personal Id or a simple generated one? Regular Ed teachers may have students (mild Learning Disabled kiddos) in their room while teaching. Has anybody else experienced (what seems like) irreversible physical damage from working long hours? I worked about a month of 19 hour days 2 years ago (this was the peak of the season where I worked at least 12 hours a day) and my facial skin hasn't really recovered and the experience really aged me.

Spent the pandemic working on myself, got sober, focused on working out, left the music industry and started a career where I can make money and have a steady work schedule. Maybe this isn’t everyone’s version of “growing up” but that’s what this was for me. Now that I’m vaxed and seeing my friends, it’s clear we have little left in common, and honestly a lot of the things they do straight up embarrasses me. I don’t want to lose these long term friends. Has anyone else been in this situation?

How To Be Productive when Your Job Is Boring

I’m losing my damn mind at my job. I’m 23 years old and I’m a very ambitious, hard working individual but my job is literally so boring, I feel that all of my habits and skills are slowly deteriorating. I mean I do nothing all day, most days.

Im tired all the time, I can’t think of anything to do. I try to watch educational videos/pods, but there’s only so much. Any advice on how to fill in the time in a productive and entertaining manner?

The company I am working for wasn’t what I saw when I started. I made a mistake being a manager. I feel run down and will late in the night making sure things are in order just to be told all the things I’m doing wrong. The location I work for in this company has had managers that had nervous breakdowns and I’m afraid I’m heading that direction.

I work as a director at the moment. Requested a raise and was told no raise till September then asking one more time for the raise and was turned down. Have teachers with no experience and qualifications getting a raise. Bottom line I’m annoyed and frustrated. By the way owner is using my qualifications to cover two school locations but refuses to raise although I need it. Now I want to leave. Am I overreacting?
