FYI, Guidehouse is likely cutting salaries based on info communicated today. Prepare accordingly if you’re interviewing for a role.

I know some wonderful people at Guidehouse. I am thinking of all and send my best wishes. I am so sorry. 🌈 fingers crossed it improves

If you read the news, you will see that companies like Facebook are moving to more remote work models and will change their comp strategies based on where people live (Bay Area vs lower COL areas). My thoughts are that if commercial consultants at any firm are currently paid a premium for being on the the road 90-100% of the time and that travel model goes away, comp in the industry may change. Don’t think it refers much to fed consulting.

like

I agree with this. I don’t think this applies to people who don’t travel. His comment was in reference to if people aren’t travel like they use to pre-COVID then they will consider cutting base salaries. This shouldn’t apply to people who never travel because we aren’t getting a premium to be on the road.

Isn’t Guidehouse predominantly government sector? At least for D our government sector is doing really well, I thought it was similar across the industry.

The crisis is a perfect opportunity to make the cuts Veritas expected management to make post transaction. Scott hasn’t done right by staff since we decided to not lay anyone off during the govt shutdown a few years back. Legacy PwC staff were promised that Guidehouse would be “same or better” in all respects. Minus independence requirements, they’ve failed to create such a company.

AFS is hiring!

DM me :)

I want to leave but I'm stuck. I have an interim Secret and still undergoing TS clearance. It makes sense to wait it out until full TS before leaving.

Since the clearance has transferred to DCSA it might have changed but your new company should be able to contact the agency and let them know. You might be able to take to the investigator and see. I'll pop a message over to a guy and see if it's still possible

Booz Allen is still hiring if you're STEM and cleared!

@D6 good points. Yeah those other two would also be a good place to be. Similar comp from my experience.

Thanks for sharing this info.
Hope this gets better, I know it’s tough.
Happy to refer you to EY!

Let me know if you need ref for AFS

Additional Posts in Federal, Government, and Public Sector

What's the market these days for someone with not-great technical skills, 12 YOE, TS clearance, hard-to-find/unique skillset, elite masters, middle management in DoD contracting, experience with critical/high profile roles?

I'm thinking 120-135k would be bad/mediocre, 180-195k would be possible/a stretch, and 160-170k would be doable/realistic. Thoughts? Not interested in Deloitte.

Looking to get involved in Federal work and/or Public Sector. Can anyone give me pointers? How did you get started? What level and firm?

Do Leidos, SAIC, and other mostly-fed consulting businesses pay bonuses to all levels? If so, what does a typical bonus target look like? Booz Allen does not pay bonuses until you get to the Senior Associate level (1 step below Director) and I think that impacts employee performance and work ethic pretty dramatically. I’m wondering if not paying bonuses is common to federal contracting because of how the contracts or priced, or if this is something unique to Booz Allen.
