How do you tackle ignorant managers and favoritism in the team ?

So I have family situation I've been dealing with and yesterday at a company function outside the office, my supervisor brought it up in front of a bunch of people. First of all highly inappropriate, but also it's nobody's business. She's made comments before outside of work about how her boss is gay, blah blah blah. I'm just at a loss. Should I report it to HR? And if I do, how do I do it without it being known that it came from me??

A client is discreetly asking me if I can join them as an employee. Should I report this to my manager? If I take up this offer will there be any repercussions?

Just had a very uncomfortable conversation with a partner. I have some time off booked to go to my brother’s wedding (I’m the best man). We were chatting and I mentioned that my brother’s future husband is so nice and really a great guy, and we already consider him a member of our family. Partner’s tone immediately shifts and as we’re ending the call he says, “Okay, enjoy the time with your family at the civil ceremony.” Like… girl you live in California, you cannot be this backward.

Anyone just had the title changed at work without so much of as discussion? And changed in a way that is not a good way?

I am 5'2, petite and 20w pregnant. Can someone help me identify some nice maternity wear i can order? I want to feel good about myself but none of the stores have any maternity. Can be regular clothes/styles that you stylish moms use as maternity too.

Need some suggestion. A very bad argument happened with your manager due to mismatch skill of work. what should we have to do? do we need to send a apolgy mail even though you are right?

There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

Anyone has any book recommendations that teach you how not to get overly emotional with work? I found myself getting irritated/ frustrated/ stressed often and I think these emotion gets in the way for me to put out my best performance. So looking for advice

For those that transferred internally from Audit —-> TAS, how did you talk to your partner about making the move? Just talked to mine and he seemed pretty upset. I just finished a big jury trial with a senior partner (SP). There were co-parties w/separate counsel. SP mentally checked out, to the point that co-counsel was asking what SP was doing/if SP was okay. I ended up handling most everything. SP did a few parts but went rogue and did things that were offensive/risky/bad for client. It became clear that SP is not performing like SP used to and may be a liability. Do I tell someone at my firm? Don’t want to offend SP or cause drama, but I’m concerned.
