Think long term. Which role offers career growth? Which role has a structured, well defined career path? If you are offered a role within Deloitte Consulting practice, you can potentially become Partner fairly quickly ~10 years (more or less depending on your current level), making 7 figures with bonus. Does Google offer a similar level role, if yes, how reachable is it? Does someone have to leave in order for you to get promoted? We have people from Google at D, and people from D at Google. You have to choose what is aligned with your goals, they are very different career paths, but both great choices.

Complete BS - only if you are white or women those paths exist to be a partner and it is not 10 years .. M to SM now is 4-5 years leave alone SM to PMD ..

Deloitte, I've worked with Google people on many occasions and the culture is exasperatingly insular and assholish. Deloitte you may not get the caliber but you won't want to shoot your brains out trying to socialize with them.

What role in what department D5?

Google. No restrictions in stock ownership. Less restrictions on side hustles. They will actually give you equity in the company right away and not just dangle it in front of you in the form of partnership.

D3 I had multiple instances of firm asking me to divest over last 7 years - pls stop know it all attitude. Audit and independence are complex structures and people who work in those only can look at individual information to evaluate. Those statements are only for guidance ..

Google for work culture!

You mean the lack if culture and all work?

You could easily get back into Deloitte in the future. Google, not so much.

No, guess it wouldn’t be all that surprising to find pretentious people at google as well though. Definitely think it’s easier to get into/back into Deloitte than an opportunity with google though.

Google.

Omg, def google. Never Deloitte.

Google for the win if this is a serious question

Did ~5 years at Deloitte and made the switch to Google 6 months ago and wish I made the jump way sooner. I got a higher salary at Google but I definitely would’ve still picked Google even if the salary was the same

I recently got promoted to a manger role with 4 direct reports and I’m struggling with imposter syndrome. I was promoted because I was a high performing IC, but I’ve never been a manager. I’m an introvert and being a leader doesn’t come naturally to me. I worry that I will let my team down :(

Currently comparing 2 offers (2YOE out of undergrad at T2).

Offer 1 is with a unicorn tech startup in bizops function. The TC is ~130-140k. I didn’t love the team, culture, and am ambivalent toward the role, but feel that this is a high growth company with IPO potential in next 2-3 years. Comp felt low but they aren’t willing to negotiate.

Offer 2 is with a F500 in corp strategy role. TC is ~120k. I loved the team and culture and know it places well into bschool.

Which one would you take?
