Good or Bad?
My referral had interviews w/ (1)
recruiter, (1) SM, then the series of
(3) 1:1's w/(1) MD and (2) SM's.
The recruiter said he will now have
an interview in Jan. w/ the PPMD.
He interviewed for a M role in
consulting for customer marketing.

He does have a wide skill set and the
recruiter said it was all positive
feedback, just have to find out
where to put him (on the team he
interviewed for or another he is

Hi Fishes
I want to share very bad experience I had at Mastercard
I was given offer by Mastercard in month of Dec The hike was less but looking at brand & other perks I accepted the offer & was looking forward to joining them.I got few offers & I went back to them for sole purpose of renegotiating CTC, to have a industry standard hike. They didn't reverted back for 2-3 days & just dropped a mail that they are revoking initial offer as well on grounds that they didn't like i gave other interview

Well, the thing in your favor is that generally speaking (though, not always) client-side pays better. But judging from your concern, it sounds like the position may be a step down from where you are now. If you know nothing about the position, however, find out more before you pass on something over uninformed concerns. May be the best job you ever have.
Not sure why you would treat it any differently than another opportunity. Take the meetings if it sounds interesting, learn more, negotiate if you need to, and if it isn’t a good deal for you and your life, give your thanks and move on. Just like you would if it was agency side
ALWAYS take the call. It commits nothing, but you walk away with new information. Take the call even when you are thrilled where you are. Always, always, always take call
Are you interested in the position?
Interested or at least intrigued
asd1 yes that's the conventional thing to do and probably right. I just fear I'll spend time with interviews, preparation, possibly get excited and then learn that it's a pay cut or not enough to make the move
I think it’s okay to be upfront with what you’re looking for. Say you’re happy in your current role (that always looks good anyway, who doesn’t want a happy employee?) and it would take X for you to consider moving. You can make it about more than salary. Insist that you want a good fit for everyone. A good way to bring this up is to ask what they’re looking for, and then tell them what you’re looking for
Strategy Director. Strategy. Director. If you need advice on how to play this one.....you're supposed to answer these questions, not ask them.
Thanks 🙏🏻
SAD1 Thanks for the tip. It never occurred to me to think about it myself.
LORDT, people can’t even ask advice on this board anymore? Jeez.
I agree with ACD1, you can move the convo in the direction you want it to go, because they reached out to you. They obviously need the role filled. Would definitely be upfront about the salary you’d even consider to make a move, they will appreciate it and you’ll get insight into whether you would even consider it. Additionally, as a director, I’m sure they’ll appreciate you taking the lead and not wasting anyone’s time.
You're over thinking this and getting way ahead. What ACD1 and ASD1 said!
Shit, pass it to me lol
You’ve got to have some idea of the salary if you have done your homework on that, right? Should be able to get a ballpark and then decide from there. Then you can negotiate to get close to where you want to be. I think a very important factor will be if you really want to work for this company or not, or if you are just bored with the job that you’ve been at for a while. Have you dug around on salary comps? Do you love this company?
