Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Phones work the same way at PwC like anywhere else. You pick up and say hello..they work
Of all the things to consider about a new potential employer, their reimbursement policies are about the very last on my list
Love how KPMG chimed in to be super helpful. As an FYI - this was the last item on my list hence me bringing it to this forum. Thanks for contributing the negativity and have a good weekend KPMG - get well soon. 🙄
They cover phone service on either AT&T or Verizon. You can choose to port your number in to only have one phone or you can choose to have a new number for a separate business phone. For devices, you get $100 off the contract price of a new phone every 20 months, otherwise you pay full price. You order phones through a dedicated online portal.
I remember getting my first phone for free so not sure if that has changed (older model though). $75 per day for meals ($100 in high cost locations)
I usually type in the area code plus 7 numbers and that gets me through
OP grow up.
^^likewise.
In fairness KPMG has better coffee than pwc and apparently they get free steak. When you have that kind of juice, you have blanket permission to chime in on any topic.
I think we cover any carrier for your phone, and subsidize the purchase. I think a top of the line iPhone is like $400. Not totally sure.
You have a meal cap of $100/day in tier 1 cities, less in cheaper cities. Managers and above who fly more than 75k get to sit in 1st for longer flights. Hotels are comfortable and reasonable in all cities. Laptops are decent. You can request a Mac through an exception process but partner needs to approve. Expenses used to be easy but with new expense system is a giant pain in the ass.
Public sector is gone so if they are hiring you into what used to be our PS business I doubt the policies are the same anymore. If they are they will not be for very long as I feel our policies are generous
Pwc1 is that true regardless of level? What about public sector, are their policies different now that they have been purchased or how does that relationship work?
If it was an older model and cost under $100 (upgrade price, not full price) then that’s why you got it free. But maybe there’s some other perk I don’t know about. And I joined 5 years ago so it could have changed since then for new joiners
OP-I don’t know if it’s different for upper levels. I’m an SA. Not sure about public sector but that practice is being sold anyway...they always have different rules so it wouldn’t surprise me. I only know what the phone policy is for me
Phones are still free or deeply discounted especially if you're near the two yr renewal date. Policies apply to all levels. Public sector is its own company now and may have different rules.
OP - curious why you're leaving deloitte?
Pwc4 can you drop a burner so I can move from PS
