I would leave. That is a good package. No additional benefit of getting promoted to SM.
Exactly, it’s actually worse as you have way more pressure with sales quota and engagement results yet he is already making higher than some starting sr manager base salaries.
I’d jump for that package. Are you at Deloitte now? I’ll likely be looking to make a similar jump next year when I’m up for SM since I don’t think I want to commit to being miserable for 4-5 years before maybe making partner or potentially being forced into MD route. The pay at SM level at Deloitte just doesn’t seem strong enough to put up with the stress that comes with the role.
OP, what city?
I would push for equity to go higher and also do they give bonuses 25% + equity ? Or does that include equity ?
You are at a decent level where if it does not work out you can always come back . Don’t burn your bridges when you leave and it maybe a good deal from a partnership perspective as you would build your contacts which could be ported over if you do switch back to consulting.
The offer is not that impressive; you could get something better from your current role, and as SM if you get promoted. However, in the medium term, having 1-2 yoe as a director at Salesforce should open more doors for more pay than another year or 2 in consulting as an or SM. Consider SF for 1-2 years then jumping with that experience.
CSM roles don’t have sales targets.
They have retention targets. The role does not have the same responsibilities as a Director in consulting which is why it pays less than a consulting Director role.
Wrong. I just got an offer for an L6 role at amaozn which is higher than 90% of what a typical director would make at a big 4 firm
Location is key here. Which location? For a tier 2 or 3, this package is actually really good. I thought directors in csg got 20% bonus, the equity is on par with other csg non tech director roles. Do you know what internal level?
Any update, OP? Did you take the offer?
