Got offers to move from a mid-market firm to PwC or KPMG.

I’ll continue to work as a tax associate in their LA office. Salaries are almost the same, so are the bonuses.

However, it looks like KPMG is offering more perks (eg expense allowances, more PTO days, and free parking) KPMG recruiter really marketed the firm well, whereas PwC’s recruiter just sent me a bunch of brochures outlining company benefits.

Can anyone give any insight on whether I should take PwC or KPMG’s offer and why?

May I know why?

When I was looking to leave PwC, I was considering benefits of the other big 4 and in my experience, kpmg had the worst benefits of them all! At pwc, you get a work phone (that becomes yours in 2 years and you can sell it for $$$), you never even see that phone bill. There was a medical concierge service that they paid for (one medical). They pay for global entry for everyone (this was pre covid, not sure about now). You do get to expense things like overtime meals, counseling meals, etc. Also, I do think their technology is far superior to the other big 4 (document management, automation, etc).

like

They’re both Big 4, I don’t think you can go wrong. It sounds like the KPMG one left a much better impression on you and has some slightly nicer benefits, so might as well jump on that one.

like

As much as they might think they are, PwC is not more prestigious than any of the other big 4

uplifting

PwC tax tech is better but we go by a cohort model for comp just FYI

I’ve worked at both. They really are the same and your experience more depends on whether you like the folks at pwc more vs kpmg.

Pwc I think let’s you use gmail. Kpmg doesn’t. But I wouldn’t let that be a deciding factor.

funny

The work is most likely going to be the same so benefits is what’s best to go off of. I can say that PwC has virtually no benefits (no fitness fund, overtime meals). KPMG is the clear winner

At the end of the day, the people you work with day to day make the most difference. Which team did you like better? Ignore your opinion of the recruiter, you will never talk to them again once hired.

PwC offers fully remote work, not sure if KPMG does

But if u go to the office u can get taco tuesdays K2 ;)

Hello All,
I applied and ended up getting an interview for a Business Consulting Technology Risk Senior interview at EY. I have a call with the recruiter tomorrow to discuss opportunities within the service line. Can you please help if anyone has been through this process? What should I expect in the call tomorrow as well as the process? Is it going to be difficult for me to get the job? I really want it!

Thank you.

I also applied to some of the roles using friend’s referral. I have more than 15 years in IT infrastructure mainly in Storage systems (EMC, Hitachi) What could be the problem? Thanks.

Does anyone have a similar experience? I interviewed with recruiters from two of "Big 4". Both interviews went well, and I was told the recruiters will submit my resume to the partners and senior managers for the next interviews. 3 weeks later, I received the rejection letters without the next interview. I wonder why the partners even not bothered to interview me. If it matters, I am a CPA with 3 years non-PA experience and applied for experienced associate positions. I appreciate any insights.
